Milan Meyberg has been an active member of the Dutch events industry for over fifteen years, pushing organisational boundaries in the cities of Groningen and Amsterdam. The pursuit of electronic music has brought him international DJ residencies , which in turn lead to event management positions at leading Dutch nightclubs and festivals such as; Studio 80, Paradigm and DGTL Festival.
Over the years, Milan developed a strong interest in sustainability, and has extensively promoted new sustainable event strategies. His interest in sustainability was strongly cultivated during his time working on Club Paradigm’s “Part of the Shift” campaign, setting out to transform the former “Groningen Suikerunie” into the first self-sufficient festival site of the Netherlands.
To develop groundbreaking sustainability concepts is no easy task, but it’s a challenge Milan has embraced fully. In 2015 and 2016 he won multiple awards for his sustainability projects (Symbioculture Complex, NATR-flowerseed poncho, Eco Coin) which he is currently implementing at DGTL Festival. At DGTL, he manages the “Revolution” program where he is pioneering circular energy, food, and resource management systems in order to develop practical applications for what he has dubbed “regenerative event management”.
In 2017, Milan’s efforts were rewarded with the prestigious DAM-prijs. (Municipality Award for most sustainable company of Amsterdam 2017) Furthermore, his sustainability projects and policies have not gone unnoticed internationally. Recently, DGTL won the Spanish Premios Fest Award for the most sustainable festival of Spain, and in December 2017 DGTL won the United States’ FestX Award in the category 'Outstanding Green Event’. Milan was also part of the Dutch trade-delegation sent to the Smart City World Expo in Barcelona, where the city of Amsterdam was awarded the Circular Award for best city-wide program in the circular economy.
